Whats with the new logo? I didn't hear anything about that. I would think that it would be big news spread all over the boards. RC2 can spend time on redesigning artwork but can't spend time on distribution?
 I thought they could have done a better job on the paint scheme on the Camaro (another freakin Camaro  ). I don't like it. The yellow is awesome but what does the black arrow-looking graphic thing mean? And whats up with the yellow colored "slot" half way up the hood? It looks weird and makes no sence.

Those cars are for Lightning Fest and the yellow is a House of Color pearl yellow. I think thay came out pretty sweet. There are close ups of the cars out there somewhere. I think the run was limited to under 300 and is already sold out. I can't wait to get my set.

They are currently auctioning a few off over at HobbyTalk. They are special sets with framed prints so they are going for a higher price. Also, some of the loot goes to charity so it is for a good cause.

You are a Lane Moderator and don't know what LightningFest is? I appreciate your thoughts and input on the matter. I will take notes on your criticisms for the future in hopes I can better meet your tastes. LightningFest often times gets the "first" of either castings or art. This is just one example where both the blister and logos were all released special for this program first. Some like it and some don't. I ask one favor since you help run these boards. To be honest, Camaros do well and in order to keep the show free as you know I need help in pulling it off with the sale of these cars. I really appreciate all input but when I align with a group and they shed a poor light on the show or the company, I get a little nervous because I have to answer for anything done to RC2. I always felt LL was part of that team but if you are an official spokesperson for this site than I'm afraid I can't meet your standards then well, at least I know where I stand here. I thank you for your work and time here and the past opportunities we had. |

No need to get all huffy about it. I don't believe I'll ever have any influence at all in future LF's, so you can stop right there. And your take-my-ball-and-go-home attitude is becoming stale. Give it a rest. I don't like it. Thats it. No digs, no shouts, no rips. There are far better (newer?) castings that could have been used. I'll spare everyone my personal choices, because, well, see sentence two. You definitely wear your heart on your sleave. Other things: 1. I know what LF is, I was there the last few years. I won't be there this year, you can have more fun than usual this year. From my accounts of LF04, I was the only one to shake your hand and thank you for your efforts when coming up to get our baggies at the dinner. Remember that, thats the guy that defines me. 2. So, no one can say a bad word about LF or its car choices or anything related to LF? C'mon, is this HWC now? It didn't take you (or anyone) long to get called on their HT walkie-talkie and come on over here to put the fire-hose on me. 3. I'm a mod because of the graciousness of this sites owner. Does that mean I have more responsibility? I suppose it does. Does it mean I have to bite my tongue at every turn? I don't think it should. Afterall, I'm a collector too. I have my opinion of what I like and I don't see a problem posting my thoughts. I still didn't get an answer on the background of the graphics. What is it taken from? The ZL1? (Z11, Z1Z, or whatever it is?) |

im not a fan of the camaro either,only the 3 m;s...lol
mustang,mopars,and mini coopers... getting a buddie a set and for myself. a little give back for charity,do like the new card and paint scheme. so ,when are they shipping???? still cant wait. howie. for a second i thought i logged on to the wrong boards,then i relised there were real metal cars pictured that wernt all goofy looking...lol.  |

No, I'm with a new set of rules and have to answer for this kind of stuff. You don't like it? Cool. They are all LONG gone anyway. Camaros sell out, period. Those guys step up. The Mopar last year tanked. Still have plenty for sale but I'm still trying to do more as well because I like variety too. Take my ball an go home? Please, you have no idea what crap I put up with. Here's the thing, the site has a Fest logo on the front page that is stale and then you as a Moderator post your opinion which is fine for you but I'll have to answer for the tie-in. Comes with the territory as they have this idea that if someone is on the "team" then they wonder why one of the players is well....... Have your say but to be honest, I don't have the time or energy to answer for it. Can you understand that? But I don't want a sponsor (LightningLane) being on another page either. I'm not asking to be all flowers and honey. On the other hand I don't want to answer for it either when it isn't. |

Last year the RC2 LightnignFest Event car was a Superbird and the PSR and Rocket 500 cars were both Superbirds. All three have different rims. Don't know about the Event car - it comes from RC2, but there are a few sets and individuals of the PSR and Rocket 500 car left, with their Titles - only 75 made of each for Fest $60 for one car or $110 for a set, matching numbers on the Titles, shipping included. That was the first go for that new casting too. It came late and just never took off popularity wise. Could be because they were in boxes, I don't know? The first Pace Car was in a box and it sold out so? I try and get blisters when I can but the down side to that is the shipping hassles and the fact that when they do 48 car boxes, all the bottom blisters get creased, curled, rolled and ruined. The box variety does ship best like the Torinos and Mustangs came in this year.

I thought last years car was the Shelby Cobra Daytona as the pace car? Why did you reference the Superbird? ONLY because it didn't sell? Is $$$ the biggest factor in choosing a LF pace car? I would have thought that anything with LF on it would sell.
Yes, take your ball on go home. Thats how you react sometimes. Just because I don't like the Camaro, and it seems to me by reading your post, that you're ready to sever ties with LL. Thats too bad. Because Rick is great guy. He's greater than great. He is the epitome of people first; toy cars second. I wish you would reconsider before you go ahead with your decision. You'd be hurting him badly and you would suffer from any possible future LF sales from his members here. I'm only a forum mod. I can't edit Rick's site. I'll email him about the logo/link.
